Work to start on Target

25 Jun, 2008 09:34 AM
CONSTRUCTION of the new Target store and car park improvements are set to commence as Mirvac’s $15 million redevelopment of Taree’s Manning Mall progresses.

Mirvac development manager, Rod Moynahan, said the internal demolition works have just been completed and the construction of the new full-line Target is about to begin.

“We are also about to begin work to improve the current parking area,” Mr Moynahan said.

“The car park will be resurfaced and line-marked. It is expected this work will increase the available car parking by about 46 spaces.”

Mr Moynahan said the construction program remained on schedule for an expected stage one opening in November.

“This is a very exciting phase of our redevelopment and the first of our tenants have already begun their refurbishments.”

That project, the renovation and expansion of the Greater Building Society within the mall, is expected to be completed by July and will combine a loan centre with the branch as well as the provision of an ATM directly outside.

The Manning Mall refurbishment will include a full-line Coles Supermarket and a full-line Target, plus 12 new speciality stores.

Included in the work will be rejuvenated entries for customers, a new disabled toilet and parent room facilities and undercover pedestrian links to Manning Street.

The mall remains open for business during the building works and is offering a range of special promotions and events while the work is underway.
