CONSTRUCTION of Taree’s new Aldi store is about to start on the corner of High, Commerce and Wynter Streets.
Work teams have completed the demolition of previous buildings on the site, as well as de-contamination works necessary because of its former life as a service station.
An Aldi representative told the Times this week that construction proper of the new supermarket and associated car parking areas is due to start shortly.
“Construction typically takes approximately six to eight months to complete,” the representative added.
“Therefore we expect to open the new store in the second half of this year.”
