Trevor to fly Manning latte flag in the US

PRACTICE does a perfect latte make and Trevor Burns has made thousands.

McDonalds Taree Service Centre barista and trainer, 62-year-old Trevor Burns, has been selected to represent Australia at McDonald's Worldwide Operator Conference in Orlando, Florida in April.

Trevor, who has been working at McDonald's for the past four years, was nominated by McDonald's Taree licensees Craig and Amanda Evans because they knew he would not only proudly represent Taree but also show the rest of the world why Australia is known for its amazing coffee.

"We were so thrilled when we found out that Trevor was selected to represent our restaurant and our country at the international conference," Craig said.

"He is such a hard worker and always gives outstanding customer service to all our patrons. He is also an excellent trainer and has been a great role model and mentor to our younger crew members."

Before working at McDonald's, Trevor worked as a catering manager for 28 years and despite being a trained chef, McDonald's was where he received his barista training. Trevor has also been sent to various annual conferences and courses by McDonald's to continue to develop his skills.

"Working as a barista trainer at McDonald's has taught me a lot about teamwork, leadership and striving for 100 per cent performance. I think it's great how McDonald's supports and encourages its crew with initiatives and rewards such as this opportunity to go overseas. It makes for a great working environment," Trevor said.

Trevor is looking forward to meeting and learning from other baristas of different nationalities and bringing back new ideas and innovations to Taree.

"I couldn't believe it when I found out that I was selected. I'm really excited because this is my first time in Orlando, I know that it will be an amazing experience," he concluded.

Trevor, along with two other McCaf? baristas from Bathurst and Perth, will spend four days working at the McCaf? stall at the international conference demonstrating his outstanding latte art skills and customer service.

Congratulations Trevor. I've been raving about you and your coffee for ages. We regularly drive all the way from Hallidays Point just to buy our takeaway coffees and chai lattes from you. It's worth the trip! You are always very professional and friendly.

The lattes would be even better with local fresh full cream milk, he probably has to use the supermarket style stuff.

Can you bring your own milk, or cream for a vienna, for him to use ?
