Rain hampers Naden hunt

THE wet start to the year has impacted the police hunt for Malcolm Naden in bushland near Barrington Tops.

A police spokesperson said officers had been forced to alter their tactics and adjust to the conditions due to the persistent rain.

Specialist officers have been targeting particular locations after receiving information that Naden was "active in a particular area."

It was reported in the city press that Naden had eluded police last week near Curricabark, north of Barrington Tops.

It was said heavy rain had prevented police from reaching the area quickly.

Naden, who has been on the run for more than six years, is wanted over his suspected involvement in the suspected murder of two people.
