SIXTEEN nurse graduates from around the State and beyond started work at Manning Hospital yesterday.
The nurses have completed a three-year Bachelor of Nursing degree, mostly at Newcastle and Armidale universities, and say they are looking forward to the training.
Manning Hospital's deputy director of nursing, Alison Colvill said the first week is an orientation program.
"They will be shown around the hospital and bought up to date with registered nursing practices," she said.
Graduate Anna Dotson says she is looking forward to working in the nursing profession and helping people.
"It's great to know you can make a difference... even if it's only a small way," she says.
Taree nursing graduate, Katie Colvill says she always liked the idea of being a nurse. "It's a great skill to have and you can travel with it."
