PREPARATIONS for the grand opening of Manning Mall's new-look Coles supermarket are underway, with confirmation that work on the supermarket is expected to be completed by September 26.
The Coles opening will mark the final phase of Mirvac's $15 million transformation of Manning Mall and will give Taree shoppers an exciting new retail option.
The supermarket will feature the latest Coles design and layout, which is being progressively rolled out in outlets around Australia.
"We also anticipate that three more exciting new speciality stores will open at the same time," Manning Mall's centre manager, Peter Gardner said. "They will join recently opened national retailers including Dick Smith Electronics, Game, Cotton On, Jeans West, Crossroads and more."
Other work to be completed over the next few months includes the following:
* A new mall façade with a fresh colour scheme, enhancing the appearance and appeal of the centre.
* A new mall entry with images reflecting the new offerings inside the centre.
* External landscaping using native plants to enhance to local streetscape.
* Improved access with a new pedestrian-friendly walkway from Manning Street to Manning Mall, including dedicated ramped access, overhead weather protection and undercover pedestrian footpath.
"With the new Coles joining the recently opened Target and the centre's new range of speciality retailers, Manning Mall will become an even more popular and convenient destination for the Greater Taree area," Mr Gardner said.
Manning Mall has joined Mirvac's growing portfolio of retail assets across Australia, worth more than $2 billion in total. Mirvac prides itself on its reputation for developing quality, sustainable projects that meet the needs of local communities.
