Bulahdelah show

20 Nov, 2009 01:00 AM
LOOKING for some community fun this weekend?

Then grab the family and head to the 2009 Bulahdelah Show today and tomorrow (Friday and Saturday).

The show society has been hard at work for many months to ensure everyone will find something of interest among the many attractions being offered.

Food will once again be available from the canteen with catering supervised by Leo Turnbull and his willing band of workers. Chief pavilion steward Margaret Mears reports that everything is under control for the 2009 displays and adds that everyone is raring to go.

The beef cattle, dairy goats and horse sections, camp drafts, rodeo, chainsaw, post splitting and woodchop competitions, animal nursery and dog high jump will all be held as usual as will the demolition derby and fireworks display.

Great Lakes Council will be holding an information display and of course there will be the usual sideshow alley attractions including rides. It is hoped that the pet show and activity tent will go ahead as usual this year and negotiations are underway for the U Beaut Ute Show.

Bulahdelah Rescue Squad will once again "person" the gates.

Membership for the society is now available and this entitles the bearer to one pass for both show days and to another function run by the society as it sees fit.

A full member also receives passes for his/her children less than 16 years of age as well as the member being able to attend meetings of the Bulahdelah Show Society Inc and to vote at the annual general meeting.

The cost of full membership is $10 per adult per annum. Junior membership is also available.

Bulahdelah Show is a community, family show run by members of the community and all profits are returned to the community.
