Action group support

IRONSTONE Community Action Group, which has taken on mining giants in the NSW Land and Environment Court, is pleased with the public support it received prior to the Sydney hearing dates.

Spokesperson Amanda Albury said her small group was thrilled with the exposure it received when it held quiet placard-carrying demonstrations outside Channel 7's studios in Martin Place on two days prior to the court sitting.

"It really is such an easy thing to do standing there facing Channel 7, that groups/individuals should be doing this regularly to get the message out what is really happening to our natural environment around NSW and Australia," Ms Albury said.

She expressed her appreciation to passers-by who stopped to look at the group's display of photos and to talk to members.

"We also would like to thank the three people from various parts of Sydney who saw the information of the rally on the 'Lock the Gate' website and came along to support us.

"ICAG Inc would like to thank Lock the Gate and Hunter Valley Gas Alliance and Barrington-Gloucester-Stroud Preservation Alliance, Rivers SOS and other network groups for uploading our documents onto their website," she said.
